Katrina Prow lives and writes in San Luis Obispo, California. Her writing has been published and is forthcoming in Indiana Review, Off Assignment, The Boston Review, March Xness, Emerald City Literary Magazine, Taco Bell Quarterly, decomP, The Journal, Pithead Chapel, Redivider, Passages North, and elsewhere. Katrina’s work has been supported by artist residencies at Yaddo and Virginia Center for the Creative Arts.

Katrina has recently completed her first book titled EASY EASY. The book orbits the experience of two waitresses and draws on much of her personal experience in the restaurant industry after over twenty years working in hospitality. She is currently seeking representation for this project.

She holds a PhD in Creative Writing, Fiction from Texas Tech University, and she currently teaches Creative Writing at California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo and at UC Berkeley Extension. Her research and teaching interests are in working class narratives—especially those by women in service positions—media representations of hospitality, the short story, experimental narrative structures, popular culture, workshop pedagogy, and the craft of writing fiction and nonfiction.
